anti-racism protest

October 21, 2012 at 7:36 pm | Posted in sport | Leave a comment

football is a sport which, millions of people enjoy but unfortunately these days it over run with racism.  Over the past six months we have seen footballers in court alleged to have made racist comments to one another.  These footballers are supposed to be an example of sportsmanship to young and old but it seems they do not take this very seriously.  We hand the Olympics in this country in 2012 and there was no racism at all throughout the games.  today we have seen people like Rio Ferdand, Anton Ferdinand, Steven Pienaar  all not wearing the “kick it out anti racism T-shirts” personally I think footballers are paid far too much and other athletes who take part in other professional sporting gains get paid to less.

It is about time the FA who governs the world of sport either sends out a strong and decisive message which says that racism is unacceptable in any sport.  They should force clubs which have a history of racism in their fans to play this behind closed doors.  We all know that this racism comes from a minority and the majority of fans are respectful of this.

But people who are celebrities who are in the public eye should take a more proactive approach when it comes to promoting anti-racism because they lead by example and what young people or old people see celebrities doing they reciprocate this because they see them doing it so they think that it is okay for them to do it as well.

this is embarrassing to us as a country never mind embarrassing the clubs and which is happening in the year in which we held the Olympics racism should not be in sport.  After all we are trying to create a positive legacy for sport over all and we all need to work together to explore, get rid, to completely eradicate racism in all sporting worlds.
